What is there left to praise in this empty place –
where deception is the norm and character is dead?
I shouted out my window to the entire world.
I waited for an answer, but nothing did reply.
I huffed and stomped and loudly trudged away
to find a little peace that was not here at all.
The peace I came upon, it burrowed deep inside
and opened up my senses to what I’d never seen.
Amazing works of art hidden in plain sight.
Discarded sounds forgotten turned into symphonies.
And trash cans piled high with can’t-miss technologies.
I finally stopped and looked at what I always saw.
Then specks of praise appeared, but questions did await.
Is it really praise that’s pushing at my lips?
Or is envy flirting with pride? Then it isn’t praise.
Do miracles exist within this world on mine?
Respect builds trust
Trust unleashes creativity
Creativity blossoms into miracles
Anxiousness obscures miracles
Selfishness composes anxiety
Always-looking-in is selfish
Peace is lost with envy
My hand must reach out far and wide to help all those in need.
And when I help and know them more then I will finally praise.
And when that praise does reach my lips then peace will find my heart.
Now I see my world is full of miracles because of opened eyes.
