The wolves are at my door. How can I resist? Where can I fin courage and hope?

The wolves claw desperately at my door
The wolves jaws clench down on my heart
The wolves hot hatred steams into my face
The wolves dark black eyes drill into my soul
The wolves smell of wet muddy fur assaults me

No one can outrun their relentless pursuit
No one can hide from their terrifying attack
No one can avoid the malling of these canines
No one can escape from the wolves shrewdness
No one can rest because they will not cease or desist

Painful thoughts haunt me day and night
Painful thoughts remind me of all my failures
Painful thoughts recount every missed opportunity
Painful thoughts accuse me of every careless stupidity
Painful thoughts lure me with seeds of depression and misery

Where can I find the peace to calm the savage beast
Where can I find the hope in the midst of this desperation
Where can I find the strength to fight through this onslaught
Where can I find the tenacity use my skills to pursue my passions
Where can I find the knowledge for a strategy against this craftiness

Fear screams that I am all alone
Fear injects dejection and gloom
Fear accuses me of every failure
Fear steals hope, joy and peace
Fear saps my strength and desire

Courage is not the absence of fear
Courage hears the wolves menacing growl
Courage sees the wolves for what they are
Courage feels the malice of their breath

He that is in me gives me courage
He that is in me gives me hope and trust
He that is in me gives me strength and honor
He that is in me gives me confidence and power
He that is in me gives me wisdom through leadership
I am thankful because he doesn’t take away the wolves
I am thankful because he teaches me how to fight the wolves
I am thankful because he provides true friends to stand by my side
I am thankful because he gives me hope to carry on in spite of the wolves

Thank you God
Thank you
