What is it that lives inside us?

What lives inside us? Does it have power? Are we listening?

I lounged in my chair and cherished, one more time, the happiest moments of my life so far. The day I hit two home runs in one baseball game. The time I toured Europe with that orchestra. The day I carried that teenager off of the mountain. The day I opened up that scholarship letter. The day I graduated from college. The day I first met my wife. The birth of my children. The list continued on – happily so I might add.

Still that list doesn’t compare to what I just experienced – a daydream. Yes, a daydream. I dreamed I saw an angel. And, when I looked upon that angel, my heart leapt with more joy and love then I thought it could possibly hold. The angel turn to me and spoke, “Now, go and create.” So, now I write.

Sound far fetched? Here are some thoughts.

When we accepted Jesus into our lives, we received the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is inside us. We all know that. Still, do we? The Holy Spirit; 1/3 of the trinity, author of life, creator of everything that we know, creator of JOY, possessor of real power, the one who told us that the greatest commandment is to love God and then to love our neighbor. That’s what lives inside of us. “Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.” 1 John 4:15 ESVST

When I here the words, “I can’t do it.”
I respond, “The creator of the universe is all powerful. And He lives inside me!”

When I hear the words, “I am so stupid.”
I respond, “The author of life can teach me! And, He’s right here!”

When I hear the words, “I’ll never be happy again.”
I respond, “The author of joy lives inside of me!”

When I hear the words, “No one loves me. I’m all alone.”
I respond, “I am God’s special child! He died for me! He wants to bless me! He’s always with me!”

I don’t know about you, but as for me, I want to get to know the person who lives inside of me. I want to experience His love in me and for me!

“No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.” 1 John 4:12 ESVST
